Sourcing from India for buyers in America

If you buy for retail, wholesale or online selling in the United States, we can source products from Indian vendors and suppliers to your brief and arrange the shipment to a US port. Other destinations in North and South America can be discussed on request.

// Cost first

Know the duty before you order

US customs duty is set by the HS code of the product and by the country of origin, and rates and trade measures on goods from India can change. Before you commit to an order, ask your customs broker to confirm the current duty on your HS code, and factor it into your price.

Give us the product details early and we help you pin down the description so the broker can classify it.

What the US importer needs to plan

  • A licensed US customs broker, who files the entry and the Importer Security Filing (ISF) for ocean cargo. The ISF has to be filed before the cargo is loaded in India.
  • Textile and apparel labels need fibre content, country of origin and other required details. Please confirm the current rules.
  • Items that touch food, such as kitchenware, can fall under food-contact rules. Children's products and jewellery can have limits on lead and other substances.
  • Some states add their own rules, for example product warnings. Ask your adviser about the states you sell in.
// How we work

One company, brief to America

  • We source from Indian vendors and suppliers to your brief; we do not manufacture.
  • You tell us the product, the quantity and the destination. We find suppliers and compare offers. Samples and prices are shared where the supplier makes them available.
  • Shipping is arranged through our logistics brand Axiport: shipping from India to the USA.
